- The location of this position is Hamburg, Germany, with consideration given to flexible working arrangements. Regular business trips are required to project and site locations in Germany, in addition to occasional trips to our core markets in which we operate (Europe)
Responsibilities
- Review and approve contractor documentation
- Monitor and audit contractor performance to environmental and sustainability standards and guidance at site level
- Support project teams in environmental management and sustainability implementation in planning, execution and reporting
- Work with the consenting teams and provide site compliance support
- Report and evaluate all environmental events in an appropriate timescale and undertake environmental incident response, management and investigations
- Report to and engage with authorities as required.Support with development and execution of environmental drills
- Provide toolbox talks and organise meetings with contractors on a frequent basis regarding key environmental topics
- Provide environmental input in contracting and due diligence
- Manage and further develop systematic ways of working with environmental topics
Profile
- Degree in a relevant discipline such as Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science
- Relevant work experience in renewable energy (or similar) construction and/or operations
- Knowledge and understanding of wind technology preferred
- Familiarity with environmental management systems
- Understanding of German licencing/permitting & consenting regimes and knowledge of the German Legislation and Guidelines related to environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You are fluent in German (written and spoken), are a German resident and possess a good mastering of English
- Willingness to travel and have a full EU driving license
