Security Architect Microcontroller (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Review existing security architectures for microcontroller and microprocessor platforms
- Assessment of hardware- and security concepts
- Identification of vulnerabilites, design flows and risks
- Perform security assessments of existing implementations
- Evaluate trust models (e.g. secure boot, secure storage, isolation mechanisms)
- Analyze threat models and attack surfaces
- Hardware-based security mechanisms / Software-based security architectures / Define or further develop security architectures
- Support technology and design decisions (e.g. secure elements, MPU, TEE concepts)
- Create structured review and assessment documentation
- Clearly document findings, risks, and mitigation recommendations
- Collaborate with hardware, software, system, and safety teams
Profile
- Strong background in embedded and hardware security / Secure boot and secure update mechanisms / Key management and cryptographic foundations
- Hardware security concepts (trust anchors, isolation, root of trust)
- Experience in IoT and/or Automotive projects is highly desirable
- Structured approach to security architecture reviews and assessments
- Ability to evaluate and prioritize security risks
- Familiarity with security architecture and threat modeling practices
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Microcontrollers and microprocessors
- RISC-V (processor architecture) / ARM (architecture and compiler ecosystem)
- Understanding of modern embedded and SoC architectures
