Senior Full-Stack Engineer - Typescript (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Deliver geospatial UX, analytics, and offline-ready experiences for defense and law enforcement missions
- Design, build, and operate geospatial features across web (React/TypeScript) and spatial services (Node/Python), deliver performant map interactions, analytics workflows, and offline capabilities consumed by mission teams
- Ship React/TypeScript map workspace features (layers, annotations, timelines, overlays)
- Build APIs integrating PostGIS, geoprocessing services, and vector/3D tiles
- Optimize performance for large datasets and offline workflows (tiling, caching, packaging)
- Instrument telemetry, tests, and join on-call rotations for spatial services
- Collaborate with designers, analysts, and data engineers to iterate quickly on user feedback
Profile
- TypeScript/React experience with Mapbox GL JS, MapLibre, or deck.gl
- Node.js and/or Python API development (Express/Fastify or FastAPI) integrating PostGIS and geoprocessing services
- Understanding of geospatial data formats (GeoJSON, MBTiles, 3D Tiles), coordinate systems, and projections
- Performance optimization for map rendering (tiling, clustering, workers, GPU options)
- CI/CD and Kubernetes basics; GitOps workflows for geospatial services
- Testing & observability in geospatial contexts (Playwright, Jest, metrics, logging) Experience
- Solid experience in building geospatial or visualization-heavy web applications
- Understanding of geospatial data formats (GeoJSON, MBTiles, 3D Tiles), coordinate systems, and projections
- Worked with cross-functional teams (data acquisition, analysts, UX) on mapping workflows
