How an MSP
works
Within an organisation, the MSP operates as an integral part of the HR or procurement function, covering all aspects related to the use of external workers – from recruitment through onboarding to payment.
By providing a Vendor Management System (VMS), the MSP ensures full transparency for the client organisation regarding all external personnel. In addition, the MSP ensures compliance with all labour laws and regulatory requirements through a carefully designed and consistent process.

MSP funding models compared:
Supplier‑Funded vs. Client‑Funded
Under the supplier‑funded model, the MSP provider retains a percentage of the amounts invoiced by the suppliers to cover programme costs. As a result, there are no direct costs for the customer. A potential disadvantage, however, is that in markets with low mark‑ups, some suppliers may be unwilling to participate in such a programme or may hold back their most qualified workers for other customers.
Under the client‑funded model, the employer pays a fee to the MSP provider. Depending on the agreement, this fee can be fixed or variable.
Although the client‑funded model may initially appear more costly, it can ultimately lead to better collaboration with all suppliers and their external workforce.
Our service portfolio
with which you can manage your external specialists
For the search and management of your external specialists, we offer you two different processes that take over different steps of your recruitment. We are at your side exactly when you need us - no more and no less. Our external personnel portfolio is divided into the areas of Managed Service Provider (MSP) and Contractor Management Outsourcing (CMO).
We work with you openly and transparently to determine which services suit your needs best.
Strategic needs analysis & planning
For companies that regularly engage a large number of temporary workers, it can be challenging to structure processes in a transparent and compliant way. You may need to coordinate multiple staffing suppliers, monitor services delivered by vendors and talent, and manage all aspects of workforce administration.
Compliance with legal requirements can also be a source of risk. In particular, invoicing and financial administration can become highly time-consuming when dealing with numerous suppliers and external workers.
A Managed Service Provider implements time-saving, efficiency-enhancing processes on your behalf and takes over the entire administrative burden related to your temporary workforce.
That’s why every collaboration with Hays Workforce Management begins with a strategic needs analysis and a detailed planning phase. Together, we define the approach that best fits your organisation.
