What types of contracts does Hays offer?

Hays offers customers and Business Partners great flexibility via the following three contract types:

  • Permanent: Permanent denotes full-time, permanent employment. Under this model we place candidates in permanent work contracts with our customers.
  • Contracting & Temp: In Contracting / Temp we offer our customers and specialists the greatest amount of flexibility in temporary projects.

How quickly does Hays react to customer requests?

Depending on the complexity of the request, the customer will receive a suitable candidate CV either on the day of the request or the next working day. Furthermore, we keep our customers fully up-to-date on all developments regarding their requests throughout the full life cycle of the recruitment process.

Is it possible to see a list of my previous Hays applications?

Yes. In the "Candidates" area you will find a list of all your Hays applications since 2005. After logging into the website, these are available under "Candidates", "Application History".

Why do you require such a detailed qualifications profile / such detailed application information?

Hays wants to match you as quickly as possible with jobs that correspond to your areas of expertise. In order to carry out a preliminary selection of jobs for you, we need as much detail as possible about your previous experience. This does not mean, of course, that you are obliged in any way to accept any of the offers we make. Also, no information will be supplied to any third parties without first consulting with you.

What happens once Hays has received my CV?

Once we have received your CV, a member of our team will promptly contact you so that either a telephone or personal interview can be arranged with you. Following your interview, we will carry out a detailed comparison of your skills with our list of currently available positions. When we find a match, we will present the relevant position to you. If you are then in agreement, we will introduce you to our customer based on the information you submitted to us.

Should both you and the customer express a mutual interest, we will arrange a telephone or personal interview between the two of you. If you both then decide you would like to work together, a contract is then concluded between you and Hays for freelance work or between the you and the customer for permanent positions.

What do your candidate services cost?

Our service is free of charge for all candidates.

I have not found a suitable project or job on your website. Can I still submit an application?

The offers you see on our website represent only a portion of the total number of jobs we have on offer. Because of the close contacts we maintain with our customers, job vacancies often arise at very short notice. Many of these customer enquiries are extremely time critical, and so it is not possible to post these projects and positions on our homepage.

This makes it all the more important that we are always aware of your availability and have an up-to-date copy of your CV. Therefore, it is always advisable to be proactive and apply with Hays.

What sorts of projects can Hays offer me?

We take the greatest care to ensure that we fill every project with the right candidate. That means we only fill positions with candidates whose abilities and interests correspond to our customers' needs. By working with Hays you will have access to challenging project work with distinguished, major companies. At the same time, you minimise the hassle involved in finding new projects and limit your downtime between jobs.

How quickly can I expect to receive an interview?

Over the years we have continually refined and improved the reaction times for our internal processes. As a general rule, we are able to react to customer enquiries within one to two business days. It may be possible, therefore, to arrange interviews within a similar period. The time required to fill positions, thus, is highly dependant on the type of position, the job profile and our customer's requirements.

Currently I'm unable to take on any new work / I'm looking to make a career change in the more distant future. Can I still submit an application?

Because we are interested in promoting and maintaining long-term relationships with our candidates, you are welcome to submit an application even if you are not currently available. It would help us greatly if you could let us know approximately when you are either able to take on new assignments or are planning to make a change in careers. We normally anticipate a lead time of approximately six to eight weeks to fill projects and positions with new positions continuously coming up that need to be filled at some later point.

Where do the actual contracting services take place?

Our Business Partners usually fulfil their assignments in accordance with the conditions of their respective contracts - in most cases at the customer site. However, we gladly offer - in consultation with the customer - remote support as well.

How do you handle candidate data?

We, of course, treat all your information with complete confidentiality and in accordance with current data protection legislation. We will only provide a customer with your details after this has been discussed and agreed with you, in advance.
