Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of complex development projects for Thin Film Measurement Systems, from concept and requirements definition through to successful transfer into serial production
  • Lead projects end-to-end, covering planning, coordination, manufacturing, delivery, and customer-site testing where required
  • Engage in technical discussions with customers and stakeholders at peer level, translating requirements into clear specifications and building a deep understanding of customer needs
  • Coordinate cross-functional internal and external stakeholders, including R&D, manufacturing, service, and key account management, to ensure seamless project execution
  • Proactively manage technical, commercial, and scheduling aspects of projects, identifying risks early and driving effective solutions
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and smooth operations throughout all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of the product portfolio by leveraging insights and lessons learned from development projects
  • Support product management with strategic initiatives and provide valuable market and customer feedback to help shape future product development

Profile

  • Degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, ideally with a focus on Optics, Photonics, or similar technologies
  • Well-founded experience in technical project management; candidates with strong mid-level experience and a steep technical learning curve are also encouraged to apply
  • Proven experience managing complex stakeholder environments and cross-functional interfaces within technically demanding projects
  • Background in optics, micro-optics, spectroscopy, laser technology, thin-film applications, or comparable high-tech environments is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts and requirements
  • Structured, forward-thinking, and customer-oriented approach to work, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling effective interaction in both technical and commercial settings
  • Professional proficiency in German and English (B2–C1), both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to meet development partners, suppliers, and customers
