Resident Engineer Automotive (m/f/d)
About the company
- In this key technical position, you will act as the primary customer interface for vehicle-specific adaptations of the Passenger Occupant Detection System (PODS).
- Leveraging your systems engineering background, you will ensure that all deliverables meet customer expectations — from validation and troubleshooting to functional safety and cybersecurity compliance.
- Hybrid Working Model: Remote / Onsite at Customer Locations in the Munich area
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main customer contact for the launch and customization of occupant sensing systems in assigned vehicles.
- Perform deep-dive vehicle systems troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across subsystems.
- Conduct seat-level validation using weight-distribution methods to assess system performance.
- Execute electrical bench testing with prototype and production parts to verify customer requirements.
- Run dynamic vehicle tests, collect diagnostic data, and analyze logs to identify and resolve issues.
- Coordinate technical meetings, documentation, and product release activities with internal and external stakeholders.
Profile
- Strong background in systems engineering with experience in automotive environments.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Polarion/DOORS, GES, JIRA, Vector CANoe, PDAQ/Saint, SWIT.
- Familiarity with safety and communication standards (ISO 26262, Cybersecurity, UDS ISO-14229, CAN).
- Skilled in diagnostic methods and structured problem-solving (fault tree, Shainin Red X, 5-Why).
- Fluent German and English skills
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and seat plants in the Munich area to support troubleshooting and reprogramming activities.
