Getting started
in Sales

Hays is one of the world’s leading recruitment companies for professionals and executives. We take responsibility for one of the most pressing challenges of our time: the shortage of skilled professionals. With over 13,000 employees in 33 countries, we are the top answer to this challenge—creating solutions that move people, businesses, and society forward.
Our deep expertise allows us to advise companies on a broad spectrum of recruitment and consulting services, while supporting professionals throughout their entire career journey. This makes us a strong partner for companies striving for a successful future—and helps millions of people achieve their career goals.
At Hays Sales, you’re right at the heart of the action: We build long-term relationships with companies of all sizes and industries – from SMEs to international corporations. Our teams are organised into different business units and contract types such as permanent placement, temporary staffing, or freelancing, covering specialist areas like IT, Banking & Finance, Tech Industries, Construction & Property, and Life Sciences.
Our shared goal? To support our clients with tailored staffing solutions and comprehensive consulting services.
What to expect:
As a (Key) Account Manager or (Senior) Consultant, you’ll be the first point of contact for your clients. You will quickly identify their needs and deliver the right solutions. With your approachable manner, you’ll win over new clients – whether on the phone or over coffee in person – and demonstrate the value of our services. Step by step, you’ll build your own client portfolio.
By asking the right questions, you’ll gather all the key details about open positions and requirements. This forms the foundation for the recruitment process, which you’ll either manage together with our Recruiting Specialists in the temporary staffing area or handle yourself in a 360-degree role for permanent placements. You’ll stay involved from start to finish – from identifying needs to signing the contract – ensuring everything runs smoothly. This also includes coordinating between clients and placed professionals, as well as negotiating contracts in the best interests of all parties.
