We are now looking for a Global Payroll Manager to join our growing HR team in Copenhagen. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations — with a primary focus on Denmark and France, while also supporting payroll oversight and process alignment across EMEA (UK, Sweden, Norway Netherlands, Germany, Italy, and China) and the US & Canada are handled separately.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an international organization in growth mode, where payroll plays a central role in enabling our people-first culture and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

As Global Payroll Manager, you will lead and optimize payroll operations across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

The main operational payroll responsibility will be for Denmark and France, where you will be hands-on with calculations, reporting, and compliance in close collaboration with local HR and Finance teams. Beyond that, you will drive global payroll governance, vendor management, and process standardization across additional regions (EMEA and the US).

You’ll report to the Chief Human Resources Officer (based in Paris) and collaborate closely with the CFO, Finance, and Legal teams to deliver reliable and scalable payroll operations.

Key responsibilities include:

Payroll Management
- Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll operations, with primary responsibility for Denmark and France
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly payroll processing, statutory reporting, and tax compliance in both markets
- Collaborate with external payroll providers across EMEA and the US, ensuring SLA compliance and service quality
- Maintain payroll calendars, documentation, and audit trails across all countries
- Act as the main escalation point for payroll-related queries globally

Expansion & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Danish and French payroll legislation and contribute to payroll governance globally
- Support payroll setup for new countries and handle payroll-related tax queries
- Collaborate with Legal and external advisors to ensure compliance in new jurisdictions
- Drive the selection and onboarding of new payroll providers as needed

Process Improvement & Systems
- Lead the standardization and optimization of payroll processes across all countries
- Partner with HRIS, Finance, and IT to improve data flow and automation between systems (e.g., Workday, Deel, or other local platforms)
- Monitor and implement best practices to support payroll scalability and efficiency

Leadership & Collaboration
- Act as the main point of contact for all payroll matters
- Provide guidance and training to local HR teams and managers on payroll processes and timelines
- Partner with Finance on payroll reconciliation, accruals, and audits
- Support internal and external audits, including statutory and tax audits

Profile

We’re looking for a self-driven and detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a dynamic, international, and fast-paced environment — and who enjoys balancing hands-on execution with strategic process improvement.

Your qualifications and experience should include:

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, business, and/or HR
- 5+ years of experience in international payroll management, ideally in a multi-country, retail, or fast-paced environment
- Hands-on experience managing Danish and/or French payroll-
- Experience with global payroll systems (Deel experience is a strong plus)
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation
- Experience managing third-party payroll vendors and implementing system integrations (HRIS / Finance)
- Fluent in English; Danish and French language skills are an advantage
- Proven experience managing payroll for 500–600+ employees

Personal skills should include:
- Structured, communicative, and approachable
- Curious and eager to improve systems
- Calm, reliable, and service-minded
- Thrives in changing environments with hybrid teams

Benefits

At GANNI, you’ll be part of a people-first, purpose-driven culture where creativity, collaboration, and personal growth go hand in hand.

Your package will include:
  • Competitive salary
  • 5% company paid pension & 2,5% employee mandatory contribution
  • Health insurance
  • Hybrid work model: 2 days from home / 3 days at the office
  • A collaborative and people-first culture
