Senior Engineer- Connected Car (m/f/d)
Your responsibilities
- Drive the development and deployment of the connected car backend for the markets outside of China
- Contribute to the definition of a global connected car architecture to ensure a scalable, compliant and secure solution covering the requirements for all markets
- Define interfaces between multiple offboard elements and between vehicle and backend
- Take ownership of multiple connected services (e.g. subscription management, payment services) and en-sure delivery with suppliers
- Consult on connectivity architecture and system related question
- Review, create and maintain function and design requirements
- Challenge the technical content and product definition under the aspects of performance and competitiveness. Identify gaps, propose improvement opportunities, and drive their implementation
- Ensure the setup of required local dev, staging and production environments
- Support the definition of validation activities, review validation results, and drive issue resolution internally and with suppliers
- Ensure that launch quality is robust over lifetime and fulfilling customer expectations
Your profile
- Degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering computer science or a related course of studies
- Extensive experience designing connected car, telematics or IoT solutions, preferably in the automotive industry
- Solid understanding of the overall connected car ecosystem incl. end-to-end communication both on-board and off-board
- Knowledge with modern pub/ sub (e.g., MQTT, AMQP) and request/ response (e.g., HTTP, gRPC) protocols
- Experience with network communication protocols across the different layers of the OSI model
- Familiarity with modern structured and unstructured data serialization protocols (e.g., ProtoBuf, JSON, XML, etc.)
- Knowledge of cloud solution (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, Alibaba Cloud) is considered beneficial
